Giving back to the community and helping those in need is part of the calling of a good realtor. A good real estate agent must have a heart that seeks to improve the world as well as his community. This is evidence of someone you can trust and not someone who is just out to make a buck. Realtor Anthony “Tony” Angiuli has proven that he is a positive force in the community through his support of the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network.
What Is the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network?
When cells in the bladder start to grow out of control, bladder cancer occurs. The inner layer of the bladder is where most bladder cancers develop. While, the deeper bladder layers are where some can grow. It becomes harder to treat as cancer grows through these layers into the wall of the bladder. The inner layers of the ureters, urethra, and kidneys also have lining of the bladder where the tumors initiate, which means similar cancers can also occur in these areas.
Many people suffer from bladder cancer which is often fatal. It is the sixth most common cause of cancer with 72,000 new cases in the United States each year. There are also a number of factors that lead to bladder cancer. The Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network (BCAN) seeks to increase the awareness of these factors and help people understand the dangers of bladder cancer.
To navigate their bladder cancer journey, support services and educational resources are provided by BCAN to thousands caregivers, the medical community, and patients. BCAN empowers the patient community by allowing them to participate in building awareness for the need for a cure by sharing experiences with others.
What Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network Does
With research and medical professionals who are dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of bladder cancer, BCAN works in collaboration. Some of the ways in which BCAN provides support, research, awareness, and education are
- Scientific Advisory Board – A team of over 50 radiation oncologists, urologists, pathologists, and oncologists have been assembled by BCAN to serve on a Scientific Advisory Board that works toward a cure and awareness.
- Walks for Bladder Cancer – To raise funds for BCAN’s research and education programs and increase bladder cancer awareness, BCAN hosts events across the nation for its community of survivors, family, friends, and medical professionals. Tony Angiuli raised $1,000 taking part in “Shop and Stroll.”
- Online Support Community – Available 24 hours a day, the BCAN bladder cancer online support community allows survivors and loved ones to support each other with their stories. This is an important tool to have in the Information Age.
- And much more!
With the help of donations and those who help raise money like Anthony Angiuli, BCAN continues to provide important services for those who are suffering from bladder cancer. This is the type of thing that a good realtor does. Helping others is clearly the imperative of Angiuli.
